This week was fantastic! Really, I wish I had a little camera attached
to me so that all of you could witness this. H. Trujillo and I are
just having such an awesome time and we're really seeing things start
to happen.
All of our "solid" lessons bailed on us on Tuesday night, so we ended
up doing some needed updating on our referrals list- and called a gem
of a man, Manuel! Called him up and he told us he was at his
restaurant and open to have us come right then and there. So we go and
meet him, and immediately he starts telling us about all of this crazy
stuff that's been happening to him-- I'll spare the details, but he
essentially sees demons inside of people...really dark stuff. After
explaining all of that though, he tells us about the Jehovah Witness
missionaries he met that were real nice and some Jehovah witness lady
he met in the hospital that was also kind.....but somehow he ended up
with us? We're still confused about that. Buttttt, he said he's
willing to do ANYTHING to help him come closer to Christ...so there's
big hopes for him :)
Wednesday. Hermana Trujillo had a mini bike crash.
Thursday. Had the most perfect lesson with the most perfect little
11yr old boy. Ah. He's the grandson of a less active that we've been
working with as of recent. We hadn't started teaching him earlier
because we didn't have permission from his mom and he's been asleep
the last few weeks...kids who sleep till 11am, I'll never understand ;)
Anyway, we finally got to begin teaching him this week- and
it went as perfectly as it probably could have. Afterwards, he
came up to Hermana Trujillo and told us that he had a funny feeling in
his stomach while we were teaching and then he felt really happy.
Ahhhhh! So heart warming. He was asleep this morning and missed
church but attached is part of the conversation we had with him on
el face. According to his grandma, he completed his other "mission",
aka homework assignment to start reading the Book of Mormon...he
did it and was able to recite exactly what was going on. Genius!
We had exchanges on Friday and I went to the loop with Hna Izu,
aka la chinita. Remember her? I've only been with her my whole life.
Anyway, we visited one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE PEOPLE, which
means a lot seeing that I've only seen her twice. If the whole world
knew this lady- I'm telling you, it'd be a different place. I'm also
including a picture of her. Notice how nicely she fits?
Saturday. Hermana Trujillo had a bigger bike accident. I tried to be
strong and help her....then I saw the little amount of blood and she
was on her own.
Sunday. Went down to the south side for a baptism in H.Trujillo's
area. May have taken two hours to get there and two more back...
but we made some pretty sick contacts on the train ride!
Hope you all are well!
Love you!
Hermana Mortensen
