Okay. At first, it was pretty rough adjustment after leaving what's been my home for the last 8 months. But it's all good. Franklin Park is growing on me...I LOVE IT HERE! Get this. We live right off the main street, in a little apartment above a business. We're adjusting to the part where we live literally right next to the metro station. Basically there's more train/bell sounds than there is silence. Andddd it usually feels like an earthquake when one of the large trains go by...but it's all good :) #investinginearplugs. Okay, but really..the best part is that on the other side of us, there's 2 Mexican supermarkets, Mexican restaurants galore, and a "lavandería" (we do our laundry with the Hispanics) I bet there's more Hispanics that live in this central area, than in my WHOLE last area. It's nuts. But so great. There really is SO much work to be done here.
More than anything, it's great to be working in a WARD!!! Follow me on this. The ward I'm in now, and the branch I WAS in, both have 4 sets of missionaries. There are more families to work with in my small area now, than there were in my HUGE last area combined with both sets of the elders' areas. Does that makes sense? Point is. There's a lot of part member family and less active work to be done here.
1. There's this one family we met this week. Wife is less active member and her husband isn't a member...YET. He's been in the states for about 6 years and she just moved here a few months ago. Seriously the kindest people. They told us that they don't have any friends or know anyone...and that they wanted us to come have Thanksgiving with them. SCORE. They're the cutest little Guatemalan family though.
2. Also. A cute little couple that got married a few weeks ago. She's also a less active member...and they got married so that he can get baptized in DECEMBER!!! He's not on date yet- but December is the goal. He wants us to go thru all the lessons with him again- which will be great practice for Hma Pearson :)
3.One more family. The cute little grandma was baptized two or three years ago....her 3 kids (who are all probably in the late 30's, early 40's) have no interest...but they want us to teach the 4 grandkids. Score. I've never actually taught kids before- so this is a weird adjustment. And it's in English Whaaa? Any advice? Send it my wayyy!
4....And one more person. Hma Chapman! Love this lady. Met her last week at church. Sooo, she was baptized in El Salvador like 4 weeks ago...her dad and brothers (who all live there) are all members. We had a lunch apt with her on Tuesday. Bless her heart. She was baptized...and pretty much has NO idea what she got herself into. The missionaries who taught her forget to mention the three first lessons...The Restoration, Plan of Salvation, and Gospel of Jesus Christ. But they did remember the law of Chastity. Twice. Anyway, I love that we keep getting these little "easy" lessons for my baby, Hma Pearson. Does that make sense? Like, this Hma and the man I mentioned in #2...they already have a testimony and you can't really mess up. It's pretty much the next best thing to companion study role-plays. Blessings for sure. It was pretty much just a easy way for me to kick Hma Pearson outta the nest and make her fly. She did so well too!
Welp. Here's another novel for ya'll. Know that I love you all, and more than anything...love what I'm doing out here! Changing lives. One family at a time.
Love you all!

. This is the lady that was baptized a few weeks ago, and missed a few of the crucial lessons. Anyway. I forgot to mention in the letter, but she reported to the Navy boot camp, here in Chicago, today. Bless her heart. She is such a gem!!!! ....don't mind the double chin #lovemesomeMexicanfood
. This is the nice view from our porch. Maybe i'll take pics of our apt next week.....it's adorable! Cute hard wood floors...you know, the works.
That's my face during the FIRST SNOWFALL!!! #grumpycatting
