December 30, 2013 Franklin Park, IL

Oh hey hey!
Hermana Pearson and I had quite the week, as any of you could guess!
Yes yes, chit chatting with my peeps was pretty good....BUT!,
highlight was definitely the activities that followed. There's an
Hermana in our ward who owns a 'Panaderia'...Mexican bakery....sweet
lady doesn't have any family--so she invited us and the other Hermanas
to celebrate Christmas with her. Started off eating some nice pesole,
helped box A LOT of baked goods, picked up rotisserie chickens, and
headed to the city!! We walked around and passed it all out to the
homeless people. Defs a Christmas Day to remember!!

Moving forward to Saturday; we had a pretty awesome experience. We had
decided the night before that we were going to fast; we haven't had
any legit potentials or new investigators in a while, so we fasted and
prayed that'd we'd be able to find someone. Later, Saturday afternoon,
 we were discussing what we were going to teach our part member family
that night....the same people we had Thanksgiving dinner with. Wife is
less active, and came here to the states a few months ago with their
little boy and girl...husband is non member and has been here for a
few years. Anyyywaayyyy, he was taught about the plan of salvation
awhile back from other Hermanas. He never seemed too interested, but
was always willing to sit in when we visited his wife. Point is. We
had no idea in what to direction to go in with him. Back to the story.
We put the planning off, and went tracting. Woof. We got a lot of
slammed doors  and awkward encounters. We were feeling a little down
so we broke down and decided to end our fast with a delicious Little
Caesars pizza. We come home. Pray. Check the phone to see that this
Hermana (the one we were about to go visit) had called us 3 times.
Come to find out, he wanted us to teach him about eternal life,
eternal families, and temple sealings and how he can have that. Now he
wants to be taught. How cool is that!!?! #Miracleoftheday
In other news, we were chosen to receive a little 'mini missionary'
this week. I've never heard of such a thing before-but sounds like fun
to me!

I can't get the link from my iPad, because 'Mormon channel' has been
blocked....but I invite all of you to go on there, lds.org (it's on
the home page) , or see it from my Facebook, and watch the video "Look
not Behind thee". It's talking about Lots wife, and how she did the
one thing she was commanded NOT to do, when leaving Sodom and
Gomorrah...she looked back. It relation to the new year and what's to
come in the future...DONT LOOK BACK. Simply go forward, with the faith
that things I'll be better.

 I love you all so much! Thanks for the support and love. Can't wait to
see what 2014 brings! Maybe more letters? :) haha
