October 28th, 2013 - Mundelein, IL

Where to start? Talk about emotional roller coaster. That's a half joke. I had pretty much been promised last 6 weeks that this would be my last transfer here in Mundelein...so it was no surprise when President called on Saturday to tell me where I'm going. I'm headed to a nice little place called Westchester, and I'm thrilled! It's about 20 mins west of the City (random side note...there are NO Spanish missionaries that actually live and proselyte in the downtown city area...too expensive, and not a lot of Hispanics). According to one of the Sister Trainer Leaders, who served there for a few transfers...of all the areas in the mission, this is probably the closest we'll get to it- besides their area---the area I've had exchanges in, twice now. Sharing a car with the other Hermanas and using public transportation. Not sure if we actually have an apt yet...sooo, in other words, I don't have a new address to give ya'll #guessyou'llhavetosendmeyourlettersnextweek

It's been an emotional few days though. Not so much on my part, but on the sweet little Hispanic ladies part. Bless their hearts! Did we have 1, 2, but 3 dinner apts yesterday, just so they could all feed Hmna Mortensen one last time? :) Yes. Still haven't eaten today.

Yesterday at church, I was happy and content to see Jessica and her family, Jaime and Antonio, and Hmna Vazquez too. And because we're having Stake Conference next week- we had fast and testimony meeting yesterday.  Jessica told me a month or so ago that she wanted to get up and share her testimony, but that she was scared (mind you she's still not baptized). So I agreed I'd do it if she did. Peer pressure. Always works. Good thing she went after me. Her testimony was the sweetest thing.  I could probably go on a little more...but I'm gonna cut it short this week.
Love you lots!
