Let's just say I don't like when my p-day schedule gets messed up. Crazy long letter from last week because I wrote on Wednesday.......and now I don't have much to say! No worries. Pretty much, this is all I've got.
Found and taught two new investigators this weekend. Both solid. One is a cute little old lady, Maria...and she told us she's going to make us dinner next week #blessherheart #gettingfedbyInvestigators.. The other, Veronica, was actually a referral from the English sisters here. I first tried getting in contact with this lady back when I was with Hmna Black....6 weeks ago. She was home yesterday, and let us right in. After chatting for a minute or two, I asked if we could start with a prayer and if she'd be willing to say it, or at least I think that's what I said. Without any regard to my question/request, she started telling us about how her husband is crossing the border right now and that she hasn't talked to him in 6 days. 1. I'm half surprised she'd tell us this....mostly because we're strangers and Hmna Kennedy and I are as white as they come. 2. It broke my heart to see this lady, again...total stranger....in so much pain because of the unknown. 3. It was rockin to be able to testify that God had not only heard all of her prayers (she mentioned she prays ALL the time, specifically for him) but also, how much He loves her and her family, and that if she continued praying with faith she'd be able to feel of His peace and comfort.
Finished reading "Jesus the Christ" this week. Then I was so sad because I didn't know what to study anymore...besides the Book of Mormon and PMG, of course. I got permission from President Woodbury to read "Miracle of Forgiveness". Lets just say I'm cruising on through. Why I didn't read these books before is beyond me. My poor companions have to sit and listen while I tell them ALL the things I loved and learned. You could say there's a lot.
Here are just a three lines/points that I liked.
-"Consider your origin; you were not formed to live like brutes, but to follow virtue and knowledge".
- Talking about the difference between repentance here in this life and in the life to come, he compared it a piece of clay... "When clay is pliable it is much easier to change than when it gets hard and sets". Make sense - and I think we can apply this to a lot of things. Why wait and change? We're moldable now......change!!!
- "The greatest of all faults is to be conscious of none" (Carlyle). Enough said.
I'm thankful for the specific things I've learned the last few weeks about my Savior, Jesus Christ- and for the opportunity to share them with the lovely people in the Mundelein area. Gospel's true. God loves us all. Don't forget it.

As for the pics........that's just us and two English sisters that live near us. They cover a portion of our area. We're in a freaky deaky district that's an hour away, so weird- so we don't hang out with them ever. But we went this morning! I didn't want to "have fun" with there still being work to be done...so I made the children wake up at 3:55am this morning, do laundry, and clean the apt...and then we left at 5:30, to be at the lake by 6 to watch the sun come up. The other sisters even brought doughnuts and we had personal study out there. #bestideaever #I'maprettygoodcompanion.
