Hello hello hello!!
I hope everything is going well....I didn't receive many letters this week....is everyone still alive? Did something happen out there in the real world that I missed? Let's change that, yeah? Ya'll have one last week to use the great resource of DearElder....why?....because I'm getting outta here soon!!! Yayayayaya! We got out travel plans on Friday. Best thing ever. Not that I wanna get outta here or anything.
Okay. As excited as I am to go to Chicago - I'm a LITTLE sad to be leaving. I feel like the MTC is just barely starting to grow on me. Yes, I know. It took 5 weeks. Just yesterday, while I was sitting in our district meeting - I realized how much I'm going to miss these kiddos and spending every waking moment with them. I love my district! We've got a pretty rockin group! Yesterday, one of the other Hermanas wasn't feeling well, so her companion and she stayed back at the residency...they were supposed to plan and teach our district meeting, but obviously they couldn't. The trio of elders said they'd throw something together and give the lesson. We ended up watching the Mormon Message given by Elder Holland about the Book of Mormon (which i highly recommend watching) and then we all went around the room and shared our testimonies about the Book of Mormon, along with our favorite scripture. So awesome! I don't really have any "favorites", but I shared the one in 3rd Nephi 27 - I think it's somewhere in between verse 10-14, where it talks about Christ's atonement and how He was "....raised up by men, so that we could be raised up to the Father...". Love those verses. Have I mentioned how excited I am for Easter next Sunday (ohhh yes. A General Authority is coming to the MTC for a special MTC-wide sacrament meeting...BIG DEAL) and then General Conference is in two weeks! Anyway. My branch president was in our room for the meeting - he must have liked what I said, because he called me up during sacrament meeting to talk about the Book of Mormon. En espanol. I was scared outta my mind! I still don't remember what I said - and I'm not sure if everyone was just saying nice things about my Spanish because they're missionaries and they have to - but it was a cool experience, and a nice little confidence boost too. Another side note about my Spanish - my roommates have noted on several occasions now, that I sleep talk.....in Spanish Whaaaa? Good Spanish too!
Well. I hope everyone takes advantage of my last week here in the MTC, and writes me via Dear Elder! Can't wait to hear from you all!
Peace and Blessings. Hmna Mortensen.
